argv[0] contains what you like to pass through exec* functions ;)
if you type:
/usr/bin/sh -> argv[0] = "/usr/bin/sh"

or type:
sh -> argv[0] = "sh"

or if you code this:
execl ("/usr/local/bin/alsaplayer", "blah-blah-blah");
alsaplayer will has 'blah-blah-blah' in argv[0]. ;)
