Here are some inputs and outputs the midi plugin is set up for
but which are presently unused.  If I'm missing some opportunities
to make use of these, let me know.

IN:
        sample rate (not dynamic)
        frame size
        amplification
        reverberation level
        chorus level
        patch set
        maximum polyphony (lower to reduce dropouts)

OUT:
        song lyrics and other timed text events
        amplitude/controllers/notes per midi channel
        instrument names per midi channel
