Andy I am struggling to understand the reason for the socket plugin.
I'm guessing from the name that it is a way to attach multiple instances of alsaplayer to one playlist. Or is it to allow a way to connect to jack aware apps?
Can you give a brief explanation of what it is intended for so that I can have a better idea of how to approach it please?
