I have a google account, but it look like at the gmail accounts are still only
available for a limited number of peoples. And I cannot get an account on
code.google without gmail account.

I just tested to download a 21 MB file from a site on tuxfamily and the
download speed was between 376 and 389 kB/s. Much better as sourcefoge from
the web. What I don't understand with sourceforge is at it is very fast with
portage, but very slow from the web.
