Hi Andy,

I am a gentoo user, but I an not a gentoo developer if it is what you are
asking for. I also contribute to the pro-audio gentoo overlay from almost the
beginning of it, and I am now a developer at this overlay:
http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
I cannot show you my panel on tuxfamily because it is not public.

I also have a partition devoted to 64 studio and I was using suse under many
years ago. But gentoo is my distribution of choice now, and I think at it will
be so for a very long time.

I am not a software engineer but an electronics engineer, and as such I have
very good skills in assembler (motorola, mostly dsp56k family). With
the Alsaplayer, I hope at I will not only be able to bring a new life at this
project, but also to learn enough good c/c++ practice to be able to adapt in
the future a real-time note recognition software I have done with a dsp board it
was a few years ago. And with the power of today's computer, it is possible to
adapt it to jack.

Another project I am in the way to start is CrystalAudio,
a fvwm-crystal configuration tuned for use with an audio workstation. I have
done the initial import of the svn yesterday but I must test it and make a
web site before making it public. It will be on tuxfamily.org. I choose crystal
because it is fvwm, but it is much easier as fvwm for a beginner. BTW, it will
use the alsaplayer because of its unique ability to control the speed with
float numbers (they will be dynamically generated).

Best Regards,
Dominique
