Thanks for your reply Dominique! I got it working now. The real problem
was my media-software (http://mms.sunsite.dk/) muted the volume, so
after a alsaplayer --volume 1.0 everything was great.

Finally smooth playback! That wasn't possible with libxine, it sucked
when system was under load.
