According to a preceding discussion, it is a problem with the jack output and
the sound quality when jackd sample rate is 48kHz. (Most audio files laying
around are 44.1kHz files)
The big problem for me is that I am able to reproduce it only randomly. When it
appear, the only remedy is to shut down both alsaplayer and jackd. And to
restart them.
But it is more, when it appear, if I shut down only alsaplayer and restart it
with something like "alsaplayer -o jack -F 48000", the sound quality issue
remain until I shut down both ap and jackd. Because of this, I am sure of
nothing. Is it ap or jackd that get confused? In the second case, is it ap that
is confusing jackd or a jackd problem?
I usually use "alsaplayer -o jack -F 48000 -s AlsaPlayer" when I use jackd with
ap, and never get this sound quality issue with this. I added a few words about
the JACK output plugin in the man page telling that -F is mandatory with it.
Ciao,
Dominique
