[Alsaplayer-devel] configuration for build from source (Asus Eee PC)

Turned out to be "easy when you know how"
I added the deb-src repository for the Debian etch distro.
Then (as root) "apt-get update"
"apt-get build-dep alsaplayer"
then I went back to the source code for 99.80 and (as user)
make clean
./configure (a lot of things now got added to the setup)
make
sudo make install
Now things work, though my original issue still seems to be there on the
Eee in that there are occasional blips in the sound when I play mp3s.
(About 1 every 3-4 mins. Makes it tough to decide if it has been fixed.)
This doesn't seem to occur with the Music Manager that is supplied with
the Eee (I think it is Amarok) and alsaplayer doesn't seem to have the
problem on two other machines I have, so possibly some perverse
interaction somewhere down in the linkages between different modules and
devices on the Eee which may not be directly related to alsaplayer code
itself. However, suggestions welcome on where to start looking.
