As someone who is a "user" on this project, but a contributor on others 
(number cruncher who uses alsaplayer to teach folk dance), I'd like to 
see the project thrive. Likely folk are reluctant to take on the admin 
job, but perhaps there is a group that would collectively be willing.

If it's helpful, I'm willing to act as a point of contact to get such a 
group going i.e., kind of broker to accept suggestions/offers of help 
and try to get things restarted.
