As with php-stemmer, since it seems a few bold people out there are actually using the Node.js interface to libstemmer_c, it might be useful for them to know that a new release (3.0.2) of node-stemmer is now available:
- GitHub: https://github.com/amaccis/node-stemmer;
- Npm Repo: https://www.npmjs.com/package/node-stemmer (can be installed via npm, of course).

Additionally, I’ve updated and released the Docker images (node-alpine + libstemmer 3.0.0) I use for testing node-stemmer (Node.js versions 20, 22, 23, and 24):
- GitHub: https://github.com/amaccis/docker-node-libstemmer;
- DockerHub: https://hub.docker.com/r/amaccis/node-libstemmer (can be pulled via docker, of course).

Best,
Andrea

Il giorno gio 8 mag 2025 alle ore 04:19 Olly Betts <olly@survex.com> ha scritto:

A new release is now available for download from:
There are still patches in progress on github, but as you can see from
the list of changes linked above there are already a huge number of
changes in this release so it seemed better to get it out rather than
delaying until more changes are merged (it's nearly 3.5 years since
2.2.0 which is really too long).

If you've submitted a patch which hasn't yet been merged, or opened
an issue which hasn't been addressed in this release, please check
on it - there are a few where I or someone else has given feedback or
asked for more information and had no further response from the
submitter. I think some people may have disabled github email
notifications, or they get incorrectly filtered out as spam.

A big thanks to all the people who've contributed to this release - in
no particular order (and apologies to anyone I've overlooked):
