<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>Due to the legal definitions of State Plane Coordinates in most states (Usually biased by 10's of thousands of feet to avoid negative coordinates of within the state boundries) the difference between the two kinds of feet can be meters different on the ground.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>And since, in some states, organizations providing surveys have to reference surveys to SPC's, it is bound to eventually be an issue for someone. (And at least one other cave survey program makes the distinction because on of their users had this issue.)</FONT></DIV>
