Tweaked Shift-drag from Filer:
  +none: as normal
  +Ctrl: use CR (w_cr) instead of space
  +Alt:  use TAB (w_tabc) instead of space
  +both: don't append anything
Also cache the modifiers; discard on a poll code other than 17 or 18.
