It is suggested by Apple that Core2 will run 64bit. However their
implementation of file(1), like most of their Unix tools, isn't
terribly helpful and so won't confirm that. (OS X doesn't even seems
to use ELF! Yuck.)

Since Richard is running 32bit, this is kind of irrelevant, though.
