GSoC applications

Just a quite note: we're about halfway through the application
period. If you have a draft proposal that isn't yet in the GSoC
system, then it's time to load it in there, even if you're still
working on the proposal details. You can link to drafts in your
application to get our feedback (as a number of people have already
been doing, using Google Docs), which you should then use to improve
your proposal.

Once you're happy that you've incorporated any feedback and have the
best proposal, you have to submit it, at which point you cannot edit
the proposal any further. If you're working with us on feedback, then
there's no particular advantage to doing that early, although if
you're busy with other things such as exams or coursework toward the
end of this week then it's wise to submit a little ahead of the
deadline to ensure you don't miss it. (The deadline is hard; Google
won't accept late submissions at all.)

Any problems or questions, please let us know.
