Debian packages are now available from the usual place (see
http://xapian.org/download.php for details).

Also, those people who are having problems with the Python bindings due
to the incorrectly bootstrapped distribution tarball for 0.8.2 might
like to know that the tarball used for the debian packages should work
fine.  This tarball is available at:

http://xapian.org/debian/pool/0.8.2/source/xapian-bindings_0.8.2.orig.tar.gz
