Hi folks,
As some of you know (and many others probably don't) I'm off on an
extended trip to Austrlia at the end of next week. Unfortunately last
week I was told I needed to move survex.com (it's currently hosted at
a company I used to work for who've been very lax about kicking me
out).
So I've had to relocate the mailing lists at short notices. It's
possible that some list mail has been eaten during the change - if
you've sent something and not seen it back then please resend it.
The list are now run by different software, but it's nicer in many
ways. Here's an overview of what's different. It would be wise to
read this and/or keep this message so you can refer to it later.
The lists now have a nice web interface (there's also an email
interface - send a message "help" to cave-surveying-request@survex.com):
http://lists.tartarus.org/mailman/listinfo/cave-surveying
There is now a web archive of the list, which is available to
non-subscribers too.
You need a password to change you subscription details with the web
interface - you won't currently know your password, but you can
request it be sent to you from the web interface.
A couple of new options of note:
You can choose to receive a daily "digest" of list messages.
You can also suspend email to your address without actually
unsubscribing which might be useful if you are away for a while (e.g.
undergrads during university vacations).
If there are any problems let me know. But bear in mind that I'm off
on my travels in just over a week and my access to email will then be
sporadic until June.
Cheers,
Olly
