I am just trying out a posting to the discussion list.

The framework of the whole system is now in place, but there is still a
substantial 'todo' list. Next week I will put something sensible on the
License, Credits, Documentation and Download pages. Downloading should be
possible through the standard sourceforge route of course, as well as the
via the tgz files scattered around the website. There are also a number of
other stemmers to make available. I have some useful "background"
information on stemming that could go up, but it is rather academically
written, and needs to be reworked to look okay on the site. Richard B says
he may put in a proper "make" file for Snowball. At the moment there are
some simple gcc calls in files with names that begin "make...".

The idea of the data on the site (which is of sustantially greater volume
than the software) is to make it as accessible as possible. So the stemming
algorithms themselves are in stand-alone html pages with a minimum of
clutter: no style sheets, frames or images, and all the essential text
resources are in plain text form.
