Thank you, I will give the porter2 stemmer a try.

As for sb_symbol, I agree with Martin that unsigned char is the type
that seems the most logical/intuitive -- I am coming from Java, so you
don't have to convince me. However, it seemed a bit counter-productive,
given that char has been used in C/C++ forever. However, I think I can
live with the two casts in my code. :)
