Log message:
Initial commit for UTF-8 support. Modes can now opt for 'wide' redraw where
every character is 32 bits wide (colours continue to be 8 bits), and Text
mode's convert line number routines, e_delete, e_splus etc all work correctly
with UTF-8.
This isn't complete, but it does allow editing of UTF-8 files.
