    I've deleted the news item for the prereleases, so that the
    announcement of the actual release replaces it rather than appending
    to it. I don't think I've been in the habit of doing that before, but
    I suddenly think it's a good idea because otherwise the superseded
    news item puts a prominent stale link on the front page (pointing to
    the now-defunct pre-release download page).
