What state are the guile bindings in?  IIRC, you said a while ago you'd got
them working, but wanted to solve some issue (directors maybe?).  Is
that solved?

If not, are they usable as you have them currently?  At present they
don't work (and are disabled) so a patch to make them usable would be a
most welcome improvement, even if it wasn't totally perfect.
