There certainly used to be problems throwing C++ exceptions across
shared library boundaries on sparc Solaris, apparently with both GCC and
Sun's compiler (x86 Solaris seemed to be OK).  The last report I have is
for Solaris 9 -- I don't know if the problem has been fixed since or not
and there don't seem to be any sparc Solaris boxes around nowadays
offering free developer accounts, so it's hard for me to check.
