Thanks. I can't be much help in this case. 

Based on my previous experiences, it would take days, weeks, or even
months for SF to respond such questions. So I'm thinking, the best
strategy now is to make v0.9.x officially working, while asking SF to look
into the issue and waiting for the answer. Once the issue is resolved, we
can install v1.0.X parallel to v0.9.x, so people can choose redo
hard/sym-linking and redo indexing, or simply stay until they feel want to.

Oh, my bad, I built but didn't install xapian-core 1.0.X. I'm terribly
sorry.
