I applied the patch via patch xapian_wrap.cc
xapian-php5-memory-leak-fix.patch. Then did a make clean, ./configure,
make, and make install. I then verified that the xapian.so file had a
current timestamp on it.

Rerunning my indexer still gives the very large memory increases of
25MB/1000 documents. I'm not sure what's causing it now; I will try to
isolate it tomorrow.
