Thanks Olly. I didn't realize the package was out of date. I
upgraded to 1.0.9. Unfortunately, the speed is not significantly
different.
It seems like Xapian is not well suited for what I am doing right now
until range searches are optimized, which it sounds like may happen
for 1.1. That's too bad because I really want to switch :(.
How is development on the new backend going? Will ruby bindings be
available in conjunction? I'd love to try it out once the value range
stuff takes advantage of the storage improvements.
I have only 4 "values" and 3 are used for most queries, so I don't
think reordering will help.
