Log message (6 lines):
Add an autoconf-based build system for the Unix doitclient.

This is overdue anyway (doitdoc.txt contains some fiddly ad-hoc
instructions about defining HAVE_NO_READLINE and adding -lsocket on
different Unices), and will also make it easier for me to mess around
with the version numbering system in a moment.
